The brief

What would you do with massive amount of consumer´s energy data available in web API? Social game? Sharing application? What would make a consumer to talk about it?

The background

New, digital energy services are emerging, but slowly. Services create huge value for consumers, but it´s very expensive and time consuming to market these services to consumers. And above all, the message gets easily very complex. Every consumer views the problem little differently.

Global warming seems to be one of the major challenges of human kind. Solutions are available. But we need the power of users, power of social media or simple gamelike applications in order to spread the good word. There is a lot of will to solve the problems, but too little visibility for the tools. We need people to talk about the solutions.

With There Corps´solutions consumers can easily save CO2 emissions and save even 30% of their energy cost. Our consumer solutions are sold by Anvia Oyj, Helsingin Energia, Fortum Oyj among others. With the solutions consumers can easily optimize their energy usage, but as well get detailed data easily from their house. The key to the potential solution lays in the data.

About There: There is a provider of Home Energy MAgament Solutions. It´s listed as one of the most promising start-ups in Finland by Talouselämä. Our solutions are targeted to private homes (omakotitalot) with electrical heating or oil heating. In Nordic countries our customer potential for these solutions is over 1,5M. A successful team would open up a door to themselves in to one of fastest growing industry branches in IT sector – ie. Energy. 

 

The problem

We want our customers to start talking about the benefits, sharing their experiences and data with their family&friends, neighbors, relatives and peers.

What would you do with massive amount of consumer´s energy data available in web API? Social game? Sharing application? What would make a consumer to talk about it?

We know our target groups, we have massive amount of private customers, we have API´s + docs available. One thing we do not know, is how to activate them to share their experiences.

About team:

Concept development skills, marketing skills, clever and intriguing ideas how to attract people, methods for understanding different age groups interest (30-40years, families, +55 years senionrs) web dev, User interface dev. 

Team will receive a test setup with sensors and central unit, SW API and docs for the SW.
